F.A.Q.
What do you recommend for playback?
It’s highly recommended to use mpv for playback.
HERE you can find an article (in italian, you can use any translator) about why, and HERE an article (in italian, same as before) on how to configure mpv.
Since vsfilter (e.g. CCCP, xy-vsfilter) is objectively worse than libass, we don’t really try to make releases compatible with it. This means we can’t assure you cross player compatibility, so using any other player is your choice and we don’t really provide any support for broken stuff (however, if you join our Discord server you may find people who use your player and are knowledgeable enough and eager to help you).
Also, since mpv can be very barebones as a media player, third party GUIs exist:
- mpc-qt attempts to replicate the MPC-HC interface while internally running mpv. However, it may require some configuration to look like default MPC-HC. While only Windows builds are officially released, macOS and linux users should be able to build the player from source code.
- IINA is a macOS-only player based on mpv that looks like a native macOS application.
A list of other players can be found here.
[The last part of this answer is taken directly from GJM’s website. We give them our thanks.]Can I re-up/re-encode your releases?
We appeal to your common sense, your ethics and your maturity. If you really want to do it, at least put the credits (specifying that the video quality is not the original one) and avoid making money out of it.
- When is “Anime A” going to be released? How about “Anime B”?
- Usually “Anime A” was out on “Day A”, how come today is “Day B” and it still hasn’t been released?
- “Anime A” will be released when it’s ready. Same goes for “Anime B”.
- It depends on the cases. There may be availability problems, encode errors, staff rl commitments, and so on. We don’t have a fixed release schedule.
Do you accept new members?
Yes (only experienced ones, though), but we tend to prefer collaborations.
There’s a typo! OHMYGAWD!
Will be patched.
Holy hell, what is this?! Why it’s not american english?!
It’s british english. The superior one.
Deal with it.
Will you do BDs of “Anime A”/”Anime B”?
Yes. If we release a TV/Web version, you can expect the BDs to come out. We tend to directly do BD releases, though.
In this regard, we don’t do multi-resolution releases. We only release at native resolution or at the resolution our encoders deem to be the best.
